The town of Bancroft in east central Ontario is known for its unique geology, earning itself the distinction as the mineral capital of Canada.
Indeed, Bancroft is a community that is geologically rich. The abundant variety and quality of minerals found in the Bancroft region has been attracting rockhounds and geology enthusiasts for generations. Specimens from Bancroft can be found in world class mineral collections, including the Royal Ontario Museum.
